Spotlights - searchlights - Are you looking for high-quality and powerful spotlights and spotlights for indoor and outdoor use? Here you will find all the information you need to choose the best way to illuminate large rooms, objects or areas. In industrial production, optimal lighting is a fundamental prerequisite for safety. This ensures efficiency and smooth process flows. Many of the headlights and spotlights offered by eibabo® are equipped with energy-saving LED technology or can be fitted with energy-efficient LED lamps.Where are spotlights and spotlights used?Powerful spotlights, floodlights and spotlights are not for the living room. They are mainly used where dark places need to be illuminated as brightly as possible. The spotlights are practical and robustly constructed and the design plays a subordinate role. The numerous industrial application areas include industrial plants, high-bay warehouses, production halls and workshops. Outside, for example, there are storage areas, entrance areas and delivery zones. Spotlights and floodlights are ideal for municipal use, for example for sports fields and street lighting. In the private environment, you can use it to illuminate your driveway, parking lots or backyards.Image: Philips Light BVP130 LED headlightWhich spotlight or spotlight is the right one for my needs? The individual living conditions or different working conditions at your location ensure very different requirements. With the spotlights and spotlights from the eibabo® lighting range, you have the right lighting solution at hand. In this catalog you will find, for example, construction spotlights, area spotlights, spotlights, point spotlights or floodlights. Each of these models has individual characteristics. Before you buy, ask yourself the following questions:Am I looking for outdoor or indoor lighting? How many spotlights do I need?Do I need the spotlights privately, for business or in industry?Do I want to illuminate small or large areas? Are the radiators exposed to special conditions? How important is power consumption? Are motion detectors or other automations desired?Should a radiator be permanently mounted or remain movable?   Would you like more information? If you are looking for a spotlight or spotlight, many questions arise. We have put together the most frequently asked questions about spotlights and spotlights for you.How do I find the best construction spotlight? There are many factors that need to be considered when choosing a floodlight. We devote ourselves to the most important factors and help you to find the ideal floodlight for you. One of the main characteristics is performance. The number of lumens indicates how bright the spotlight shines. A performance of around 1000 to 2000 lumens is a guideline. However, you should not only pay attention to the number of lumens. If the radiator is mainly used in small rooms, the device can quickly dazzle. If an emitter can be positioned individually, 500 lumens can be sufficient. In large rooms and on construction sites, the light should usually be distributed over a wide area. Here you should choose a spotlight with 2000 lumens or more. TIP:The specification of the light output in watts is not meaningful. The technology used is crucial. Halogen bulbs have a lower light output per watt than LEDs. The watt number indicates how much electrical power the radiator consumes. The higher the wattage, the more energy is required. However, this does not mean that the spotlight shines brighter. The decisive factor here is whether the spotlight works with halogen lamps or with LEDs. Models with halogen lamps consume a lot of electricity and produce a lot of light and heat. As a rule, power is supplied via a 230V socket. Construction spotlights with LED technology consume significantly less electricity with the same light output. Some models can therefore be operated with rechargeable batteries. If the floodlight is used outdoors, you should make sure that the device is waterproof. There are models that are suitable for use under water. In addition, a floodlight should be equipped with a carrying handle. This facilitates transport to the respective place of use. Watch the weight. Models with a tripod come in handy when you need to perform work at different heights. How can spotlights and spotlights be mounted? Most powerful spotlights and spotlights have a stable mounting bracket. Others offer an add-on console in which the electrical connection is also located. This means that it can be installed on almost any solid surface using screws, clamps or clamps. Depending on the location, walls, ceilings, trusses, masts, platforms or even the floor are suitable for attachment. In some cases pendulum suspension or recessed mounting is possible. We recommend having work on electrical systems carried out by a specialist electrical company. Are the degrees of protection important for spotlights and headlights? When used outdoors, compliance with certain protection classes is mandatory. Most spotlights and floodlights have high IP protection classes and IK protection classes. These are also necessary if the devices are used inside buildings. The IP degree of protection describes the protection against splash water or water jets as well as against dust, dirt and physical contact. The higher the number of the degree of protection, the better the device is protected. We recommend that you pay attention to the IP protection class. Experience has shown that the lights in industrial plants and production facilities are rarely cleaned of dust. Contact with splash water can occur at any time. The IK classification describes the protection against mechanical influences. This should be particularly high for spotlights and headlights. When used in production facilities or warehouses, it is easy for machine booms, cranes or forklifts to touch the lights. What are the advantages of spotlights and spotlights with motion detectors?Almost every product group on the lighting market is available with motion sensors. This also applies to spotlights and floodlights for private, commercial, municipal or industrial purposes. Motion detectors have the advantage that they only activate a spotlight when something is actually moving. Motion detectors help to save electricity. This is particularly useful in areas that do not require continuously active lighting. Classic examples are backyards, private parking lots, dark corridors or stairwells.Which beam angle should I choose for spotlights and spotlights? The beam angle or light cone is an important criterion for the choice of lighting. Depending on the application, a wide or narrow light cone can be advantageous. The mounting height must also be taken into account. A wide beam of light ensures a diffused light, resulting in fewer shadows. This, combined with a high mounting location, is ideal for area lighting as the light is evenly distributed. A narrow cone of light provides an intense light at a specific point. This results in stronger shadows, which can be annoying when working, for example. Can I replace the LEDs in spotlights and headlights? In the case of lights that are designed for use under difficult conditions, the LEDs are mostly permanently installed. A change is therefore not possible.Good to knowPermanently installed LED lamps are not a disadvantage. The option of replacing the LEDs is not economical in most cases. An LED is a semiconductor product and requires cooling. If an LED is firmly connected to the metal housing of the lamp, the heat is optimally dissipated and the service life is extended. In the case of a spotlight or headlight with a replaceable LED light source, the design effort and thus the price would be significantly higher. Don't forget that replacement bulbs can cost a lot of money, sometimes as much as a new one. Considering the long service life of LEDs, you quickly realize that changing the light source is not always economical.  Catalogue content:In this eibabo® catalogue Luminaires > Downlight/spot/floodlight you will find items from the following product groups:Item overview:Accent lightingAluminum lightBathroom lightBuilt-in light pointBuilt-in potCeiling lightCompact heaterDisplay lightHall downlightsHeadlightInfrared sensor emitterInterior lightingJewelry lightLamp insertLiving room lampLiving room table lampLow-voltage spotlightMotion detectorOffice lightOrientation lightPhase railPole Mounted LuminaireRecessed lightRectangular lightSensor lightSide room lightSpotlightHeadlampTrack spotlightfrom the following manufacturers:Manufacturer overview catalogue Spotlights - searchlights:AbalightArcliteAura LightBachmannBarthelmeBEGA GantenbrinkBrilonerBrumbergEgloESYLUXEVNFabas LuceFischer & HonselGrotheHeraHufnagelIDViiMKonstsmideLEDVANCELichtlineLTSMakitaMeyer + SohnNeuhaus LeuchtenOligoOpple LightingPaulmannPerformance in LightPhilips LichtRegioluxRidi-LeuchtenRZBScharnberger+Has.Schmitz-LeuchtenSchuchSignify LampenSignify PLSSitecoSLVSteinelSun CracksThebenTriluxTrio-LeuchtenWibreWitte + SutorXylemZumtobelZumtobel Group
Room thermostat - The correct setting of the room temperature is an important aspect for well-being in our apartment or house. If you are not sure which room temperature controller you should choose, here are a few tips and hints. Are you also one of those people who react sensitively to temperature changes, who quickly freeze or sweat? Setting an incorrect temperature can cause discomfort and even health problems. With a room temperature controller, you are able to keep the temperature in your home constant. You don't have to worry about rooms that are too warm or too cold. In the office, warmer room temperatures are not only beneficial for employees, but also have a positive effect on productivity. If the temperature is too cold, employees get sick more often and cannot concentrate as well. It is all the more important that the temperature in the office is right. With a room temperature controller, you can easily regulate the temperature yourself and ensure a pleasant working atmosphere.Tips for searchingThis catalog is located in the main category 'Electrical Material'. Here you will find analogue room temperature controllers, programmable devices, room temperature inserts and actuators. If you are looking for KNX room temperature controllers for your building automation, please use our search or visit the main category 'Smart Home'.There are many different types of room temperature controllers on the market. We will help you to find a device that is suitable for your needs. What types of room temperature controllers are there? There are different types of room temperature controllers. These differ in structure, mode of operation, type of operation and price. The simplest room temperature controllers are the analogue devices. These are easy to use and inexpensive to purchase. The temperature is usually regulated steplessly by means of a rotary disc. Some models also have an ON/OFF switch. The installation is usually flush-mounted. There are also models that can be surface-mounted. With digital controllers, enter the setpoints directly. There is no dial here. If these are programmable, set the room temperature for different days and times in advance. Such a device then adheres to the specified configuration over the programmed period of time. So-called 'smart' room temperature controllers offer many individual options for setting the temperature. These can be freely programmed and provide interfaces to building automation systems. It is usually operated using buttons on the device or a touch screen.Image: Gira 039603 room thermostatWhere should the room temperature controller be installed?A few things should be considered so that a room temperature controller can measure and regulate the temperature precisely. Basically, such a device determines a difference between the current room temperature and a target temperature. This can be done mechanically or via a sensor. Corresponding signals are then passed on to the heating, which lead to an increase or decrease in the room temperature. Attach the controls so that an accurate measurement can be made. Incorrect measurements mean that the heating is activated too early or too late and the room temperature does not match the desired temperature.Which circumstances could lead to incorrect measurements? The room air cannot circulate around the room temperature controller. Heat builds up in niches. The air exchange is also low behind cupboards or curtains. Here the controller may measure too high a temperature or react too slowly to changes. A measurement too close to the radiator is also critical. It gets warm too quickly here and the controller switches the heating off again. As a result, the desired temperature is not reached in the room. In contrast, installing it in areas with a lot of drafts or near a window that is often open will result in readings being too low. Here it can happen that the room gets too warm or a lot of heating energy is wasted. The controller does not switch off the heating correctly.AssemblyFlush-mounted room temperature controllers can be installed in a normal switch box or a cavity wall box. Surface-mounted devices are attached directly to the wall. In any case, please follow the manufacturer's instructions exactly when wiring. This is the only way to ensure trouble-free functionality. Please pay attention to the following during installation:a mounting at about 1.60m above the floorgood air circulation without heat build-up or draughtsa mounting location without direct sunlightattachment to an internal wall Which temperatures are ideal for well-being?The ideal living room temperature depends on personal preferences and the time of day. As a rule, however, the temperature in living rooms should not be below 16 degrees Celsius, otherwise the risk of catching a cold or other health problems increases. During the day temperatures can be a bit higher, while the bedrooms are usually cooler. In Germany, the following values are considered optimal:Living room: 20°C to 22°CChildren's room: 20°C to 22°C (18°C at night)Bedroom: 16°C to 18°CBath: 20°C to 23°C (depending on usage and time of day)Kitchen: 19°C  TIP:Each additional degree of room temperature increases the heating costs. Use the possibilities of modern heating systems and lower the room temperature in unused rooms by around 5°C during this time. To save energy, you can schedule heating breaks, for example. Adjust the devices so that the room temperature is lower when you are not at home. If you are away for a few days, reduce the temperature to 15°C or slightly lower. Based on this, you will reach the feel-good temperature after your return within 1 to 2 hours.Do room temperature controllers require a power connection? In order to work correctly, a room temperature controller needs a power supply. Unless it is a device with radio technology, you need a cable from the heating circuit distributor to the controller. This serves to supply the controller with power and to connect an actuator. You therefore need a cable with at least four conductors and a corresponding cross-section, of which the yellow-green protective conductor is used exclusively for protective earthing. When buying, make sure that you have a 24V or 230V system. How do I set the exact temperature with analogue room temperature controllers? Some analogue room temperature controllers with a rotary disk do not show the room temperature in °C, but rather a scale, often from 1 to 6. It can be a bit difficult to find the optimal temperature here. However, there is a reason for this. The manufacturers do not label the heating controllers with degrees, since other factors influence the room temperature. Deviations arise, for example, from accumulated heat or draughts. If this is the case, the temperature on the controller does not match the temperature in the room and differences arise. The scale roughly corresponds to the following temperatures:* (asterisk - if present) corresponds to approx. 5°C and is designed as frost protectionLevel 1 corresponds to about 12°CLevel 2 corresponds to around 16°CLevel 3 corresponds to around 20°CLevel 4 corresponds to around 24°CLevel 5 corresponds to around 28°C If it is colder on the room temperature controller than in the rest of the room due to drafts, the set level 3 may already correspond to room temperature level 4. In the opposite case, the room temperature may only be 16°C, although for the controller it is in a niche Accumulated heat has already reached 20°C. The heating is switched off too early. In these circumstances you have to try something to find the optimal setting position. With a modern heating system, you can regulate the temperature in your immediate vicinity individually. In the eibabo® technology store you will find numerous room temperature controllers that you can integrate into your heating system depending on the requirements or equipment. When buying, pay attention to quality. Finned tube heater - Although your shed or garage cannot be heated, do you want to work there during the winter? Or maybe you have a greenhouse in which you want to store your sensitive plants frost-free during the cold season? Then a finned tube heater is an interesting investment for you. You may have seen such radiators at your local garden center or in your car repair shop. Finned tube heaters are particularly stable and can be easily connected to the house installation. Dirt and moisture cannot harm them. Even jets of water and even short-term submersion are no problem for the models with protection class IP67. With mounting feet and a manual temperature setting, both installation and operation are a breeze. Order your finned tube heater quickly, securely and conveniently in the eibabo® online shop. What are finned tube heaters?Finned tube heaters are electrically operated heaters designed for industrial use. Due to the simple design and high reliability, these are particularly suitable for all heating applications up to an ambient temperature of 60 °C. As a rule, the devices have a self-contained design and are therefore also suitable for damp rooms. This makes finned tube heaters very flexible in use. All you need is a power connection designed for the power of the respective device. NoticeIf a permanent connection to the power supply is required for commissioning, we recommend installation by an experienced electrician. Depending on the model, plug assembly is possible or a permanent connection is necessary. How are finned tube heaters constructed? The radiators are typically made from a stainless steel tube on which steel ribs are spirally attached. These serve to enlarge the surface and thus enable better heat dissipation. The heating insert in the tube is usually made of technical ceramics. It includes a glow coil. The connection and control unit are built into a plastic housing. A tight cable gland is provided for the connection. The power and thus the heat output can be infinitely adjusted via a rotatable controller.buying tipWhen buying, pay attention to the surface temperature. We differentiate between devices with high and low surface temperatures. This results in differences in the area of application. In the case of high surface temperatures, the stoves are not suitable for rooms with combustible materials or where there is a risk of contact. Special equipment is available for potentially explosive areas. With some models it is possible to insert a second cable gland in the housing. This enables connection to a room thermostat. Some devices are already equipped with an integrated thermostat. A control lamp often provides information about whether the device is switched on or off.Where are finned heaters used? The devices are designed for industrial or commercial use and are used as frost protection in machine rooms, pumping stations, elevator shafts, greenhouses and other environments without their own heating system. Ribbed heaters also serve as heating in waiting rooms, crane cabs, site trailers, workshops, service areas and technical drying rooms. Ribbed radiators can also be interesting alternatives in the private sphere. For example, think of:a garage in which you can carry out repairs or pursue your hobby even in the cold seasonan outbuilding in which you protect your potted plants from frost in wintera barn for small animals, in which a certain minimum temperature must always prevail Image: Kraemer & Kraus RRH TR 1000 finned tube heating furnaceWhat are the prerequisites for the installation of finned radiators?Ribbed heaters require a power connection. The standard voltage is 230 volts AC. Depending on the model, the devices have an output of between 200 W and 6000 W. A three-phase 40 volt power connection is required for high-performance devices. Especially for the more powerful heaters, it is not recommended to connect the devices to a classic socket. Please note the capacity of the circuit and which other devices usually use this circuit. A power supply designed for the radiator and separately fused is to be preferred in any case. The ribbed radiators also have mounting feet for attachment to the wall or floor. The subsurface must be sufficiently stable to ensure safe installation. Please also make sure that there are no obstacles around the device. These lead to heat accumulation, impede the even distribution of the heated air and pose a potential fire hazard. Are there special equipment or accessories for ribbed heaters?So-called Ex space heaters are available in the eibabo® shop for special environments. These are used to heat the room air in explosion-prone workplaces. A touch guard made of perforated sheet metal can be a useful accessory. You mount this with a certain distance around the radiator and thus prevent accidental contact of the skin or flammable substances with the possibly hot slats. How should finned tube heaters be maintained?Ribbed heaters are suitable for use in different environments and are largely wear-free and maintenance-free. However, it can happen that dust and dirt are deposited on the devices. This can lead to reduced performance. In such cases, it is advisable to clean the spaces between the slats with compressed air or a vacuum cleaner. This will ensure the necessary air circulation again. If damage such as holes or cracks occur on the housing through everyday work, safety-relevant properties are no longer given. In such cases, we recommend an exchange. TIPDue to the design for commercial and industrial use, finned tube heaters are robust, maintenance-free, protected against corrosion and usually absolutely dust-tight and waterproof. A large selection of robust and durable finned tube heaters is available in the eibabo® technology store. We only offer the best brand quality from the well-known manufacturers Etherma, Kraemer & Kraus and Schultze. These have been tried and tested in our customers' systems for years and are characterized by their particular reliability. Actuating drive - Do you want your heating systems to offer the desired living comfort while working efficiently? Then it should be equipped with durable and high-quality actuators that optimally control the flow of the heating medium. Find out more about actuators, their function and use here. Actuators are required to open and close the water circuit of a heating system or cooling ceiling. To do this, the drives are screwed or snapped onto a valve. Efficient heating of buildings has become a challenge. It is no longer just about warming the residents, but:adjust the temperature sensibly to the function of the roomusing as few resources as possibleto ensure a long service life of the systemto enable convenient operation All of these lead to money savings, environmental protection and a better quality of life, and depend in part on the heating system installed in the building. In this eibabo® catalog you will find conventional actuators for 24 volt systems or 230 volt systems. Depending on your needs, choose normally open or normally closed models and installation accessories. What are thermoelectric actuators?Thermoelectric actuators are general purpose actuators designed to provide on-off control of a variety of control valves. In private use, these are typically the valves of underfloor heating, but can also be used in industry for other heating systems, ventilation systems and cooling systems. The devices regulate the flow of the heating medium (e.g. hot water) in a circuit and thus ensure that the temperature in the building is controlled. Thermoelectric actuators can be used on the heater valves as well as in the heater manifolds and the floor manifolds. Please noteSome actuator models only suitable for certain valve inserts. Please read the product descriptions and pay particular attention to the dimensioning of the attachment on the valves and the type of power supply.Modern actuators work together with room thermostats and heating actuators and can be integrated into the building management system.Should I buy normally open or normally closed actuators? With actuators, we distinguish between NC (normally closed) and NO (normally open). Which variant you choose depends on your personal needs. NC drives are always closed and open when power is applied. In the case of normally open NO actuators, the current ensures that the valve closes. Please take this into account when planning your heating system. But what are the advantages or disadvantages? In the event of a power failure or defect, NC drives close. If it is a heating season, you will quickly notice the malfunction. It's getting cold in the house. NC drives therefore only consume electricity when they are being heated. On the other hand, drives that open without current are more efficient during the heating period. However, in the warm season you must keep the drives closed using electricity, otherwise you may heat your building unnecessarily. In such a case, switching off the pump by the heating actuator or manually after the winter season would be advisable. How are thermoelectric actuators installed?Thermoelectric actuators (valve drives) are snapped or screwed directly onto the upper part of the valve used in the house. This connection with the valve spindle is usually made directly in the heating circuit distributor. You can use adapters made of PVC or metal to compensate for the manufacturer-specific distance differences between the drive and the upper part of the valve or the thread and the mount. In this way you ensure correct implementation of the manipulated variable. Why are there no KNX actuators? With a decentralized installation, for example in the heating circuit distributor, you can use heating actuators with L and N connections for direct connection of the actuators. You can find more information in our 'Heating actuator' category. Contrary to widespread opinion, thermoelectric actuators are not wear-free and must be replaced every year. This is why earlier versions of expensive KNX actuators (i.e. devices that combine the KNX actuator and actuator) have not caught on and are increasingly disappearing from the market. It is therefore a question of long-term cost efficiency to separate the technology from the positioning drive and the actuator. The actuator is parameterized using the Engineering Tool Software ETS. TIPThe ETS parameter 'Flush' helps to minimize wear on rarely used valves. This function prevents the heating valves from calcifying too quickly. This KNX software is manufacturer-independent and is required to develop and configure individual controls for building automation. That means: The actuator opens and closes the actuators according to the programmed specifications. What should I look out for when buying an actuator?Reliable working actuators are the key to the correct and efficient operation of the entire heating system. When selecting thermoelectric actuators, you should pay attention to the following points:The drives must be compatible with the rest of the heating system. Check that these match the valves. An important parameter here is the so-called stroke, which is usually specified in millimeters. The stroke of the actuator must match the closing dimension of the valve. If the stroke is too small, the actuator will not fully open or close the valve (depending on the NO or NC variant).Decide on a normally open or normally closed variant.Pay attention to the power supply. Here we distinguish between 24 volts and 230 volts. The power consumption of the drive should be as low as possible and not exceed 5 watts.Opening and closing a valve takes time. High-quality equipment offers opening and closing times of less than 3 minutes. The actuator should have an easily recognizable status display so that the current status can be easily read. Image: ABB TSA/K 230.2 thermoelectric actuatorIn addition to thermoelectric actuators, we offer you the following products:radiator valve drivesActuators including binary inputselectromotive actuatorsRadiator control drivesWireless actuators with and without room temperature controllerRadiator thermostatsstraight valvesvalve adapterReceiver for heating actuatorsand many more Well-known brand manufacturers in our range include ABB, Busch-Jäger, Eaton, Gira, Hager, Heimeier, Issendorf, Lingg & Janke, Merten, MDT, Siemens, Somfy and Theben.  Catalogue content:In this eibabo® catalogue Installation bus systems > Actuating drive for bus system you will find items from the following product groups:Item overview:ActuatorBattery poweredBus technologyContinuous controlControl valveEnergy efficientHeater driveHeating controlHeating controllerHeating technologyRadiator thermostatRetrofitRoom temperature controllerRoom thermostatTemperature controlTemperature controllerThermostatTime profileValve driveWax cartridge drivefrom the following manufacturers:Manufacturer overview catalogue Actuating drive:ABBAVM ComputersystemeBusch JaegerEberleEltakoFKRGiraHagerIssendorffJungMertenRademacherSiemensSomfyThebenWindowMaster
Space heater - Wouldn't you like to have an additional heat source in certain situations? For example in the morning in a cold bathroom or on the terrace on a cool autumn evening? With modern radiant heaters, you generate direct heat exactly where you need it. At eibabo® we have a large selection of radiant heaters from all well-known manufacturers such as EHT AEG, Beurer, Vitramo, Rommelsbacher, Etherma, Glen Dimplex or Steba. What types of radiant heaters are there?Radiant heaters are available in different versions and are therefore suitable for a wide variety of purposes. The most frequently requested versions from eibabo® include large-area heaters, linear heaters, quartz heaters (infrared block heaters, halogen infrared heaters), infrared heaters, infrared lamps, changing table heaters, carbon heaters and IR dark heaters. Our range also includes ceiling heating elements in various dimensions, power levels and designs. Many of these radiant heaters also have additional functions, such as:switchable oscillation (automatic swiveling of the radiator)integrated room thermostatdouble insulationsafety shutdownoverheat protection What is the difference between radiant heat and heat by convection?A comparison with convection heaters helps to understand how a radiant heater works. Cold air flows through a convection heater and is heated by fins or similar. Warm air rises and cold air follows. A cycle (convection) is created. This cycle is often supported with fans or blowers until the target air temperature is reached in the entire room. A radiant heater does not directly heat the surrounding air. The device generates thermal radiation. This is transmitted by electromagnetic waves. There is therefore no heat transfer medium and the radiant heat travels through the air with almost no loss. It is only when the waves come into contact with an object or person that they are transformed into heat. The objects absorb the radiant energy and warm up as well as the room. So if a person stands in the radiation area of the heat source, they perceive direct heating. Despite lower air temperatures, this warmth is perceived as pleasant. What is an IR emitter? Many devices are offered as infrared heaters. These emit infrared light, which is not visible to the human eye but can be felt as heat. To create the infrared light, IR emitters use a series of coils and a reflector, which emits the light into space. Already knew? The German-British astronomer Sir William Herschel discovered or proved infrared light in 1800. This way of working has some advantages. Modern infrared heaters start heating bodies and objects as soon as they are switched on. In contrast to heaters with fans, an infrared heater works very quietly. The level of efficiency is very high, since only specific objects and people are heated. Infrared heaters are environmentally friendly and do not emit any pollutants. No fossil fuels or wood are burned. The disadvantages: Infrared heaters emit an orange light. Some people find this annoying. If you are sensitive to light or a light sleeper, an IR emitter in the bedroom is not the right choice for you. Due to the limited heat distribution, IR heaters are not ideal for heating large rooms. Because infrared heaters do not heat the air, the heat dissipates quickly after the heater is turned off. What are ceiling heaters?Ceiling heaters are a special type of heater. The heating panels are installed in the ceiling. These radiant panels then radiate heat to objects and people underneath. As a result, a relatively large area of the room is perceived as pleasantly warm. Seating furniture, tables, floors and other furnishings are heated evenly. The heat is independent of air movement. Ceiling heaters are available for both indoor and outdoor use. They are therefore ideal for covered terraces. When should I choose a quartz heater?Quartz heaters generate intense heat and emit medium to short infrared waves. These heat up the surrounding bodies particularly quickly. Because very high temperatures occur when the radiation is generated, quartz is used as a protective material for the heating element. In the private sphere, quartz heaters are preferably used as wall heaters for terraces and outdoor seating. The devices are also used in various industrial processes, for example drying and curing of materials and thawing of frozen products.Image: Etherma SM-1400-T IR radiant heater SolamagicIs heating with radiant heaters economical?Heating is always associated with costs. Whether a certain type of heating is economical depends on whether it is used correctly or incorrectly. Convection heaters heat the air relatively inefficiently, but are well suited for long-term operation. In general, radiant heaters may have a higher power consumption. However, the devices bring the heat quickly and directly to where you need it. Thanks to this plus in efficiency, you can heat for a shorter time and in a more targeted manner. Conclusion: Used correctly, you heat economically with radiant heaters. It depends on your personal needs. For certain situations or uses, other heat sources would be a poor choice. Can radiant heaters be dimmed? It is not always necessary to use the device at full power. You can regulate the intensity of your infrared radiant heater with a dimmer, for example if only a little additional heat is required on cool evenings or if you are sitting very close to the device. The extensive accessories for radiant heaters include:Dimming modules for the deviceDimmer for the socketRadio dimmer in the form of remote controls or as an app for the smartphoneQuartz heating elements in many different power levels  Please noteThere are infinitely dimmable infrared heaters, devices with several heating levels and non-dimmable models. Gradual regulation of the heating output is usually sufficient, especially with radiant heaters for outdoor use. If this function is important to you, take a look at the product description or the data sheet of the device before you buy it.When is a radiant heater right for me?A radiant heater works particularly efficiently when there are objects or people nearby. It doesn't matter whether the room is open or closed. Such a device can be used indoors and (with the appropriate IP protection class) also outside. It is not the air itself that is heated, but rather individual objects or people. The devices therefore represent an interesting alternative for cold rooms such as garages, workshops or cellars. Radiant heaters also ensure pleasant comfort on terraces. Radiant heaters do not cause the air in the room to convect and there are therefore no draughts. This is particularly appreciated by people with asthma, allergies or other breathing problems. Radiant heaters are usually the ideal choice for rooms that are not used for a long period of time during the day or at night. It is not necessary to continuously keep the temperature at a high level. If necessary, a feel-good atmosphere can be created for a limited time and place. A vivid example of this type of interior spaces are bathrooms. What should I look out for when buying a radiant heater?Radiant heaters have different specifications depending on their purpose. Choosing the right device depends, among other things, on the following properties:Where is the device installed? This results in the design as a free-standing device, wall spotlight or ceiling spotlight. Pay attention to the IP protection class for devices for outdoor use.Do I want to be able to control the heating output?Sometimes a simple device with one heat setting is enough. Devices with step switching offer more convenience. The most convenient way is stepless regulation via remote control or app.warmth for the babySome radiant heaters are specially designed for use above the changing table. Keep in mind that to protect the baby, these only generate comfortable heat for a relatively small area. These devices are not suitable for heating the entire children's room. What performance should the device have?Choose a heater according to the size of the area to be heated. For a medium distance, the rough rule of thumb is: 100 watts of heating power for one square meter of area. With an area of 10 m² to be heated, you should therefore choose a room heater with a heating capacity of 1,000 watts. Of course, this information varies with decreasing and increasing distance of the device. How should the device be switched on and off?Standing devices usually have toggle switches or rotary switches on the device. Fixed mount models are either supplied without a switch or can be operated using the internal pull switch on the unit. How much light and noise does a device produce?Light pollution and noise pollution are among the disturbing environmental influences. Basically, infrared heaters produce very little light and noise, which are hardly noticed in everyday life. However, if you plan to use it in quiet rooms such as the bedroom, you should pay special attention to this. If in doubt, opt for a dark radiator. Classic IR emitters offer a clear view of the heating element and emit orange light. This is not the case with the dark radiator. In these models, the heating element is covered with a ceramic plate or a metal plate.  Catalogue content:In this eibabo® catalogue Residential heating > Heating emitter you will find items from the following product groups:Item overview:Ceiling mountChanging table spotlightDehumidifierDesign panelDirect heatElectric infrared heatingHalogen tubeHeaterHeating elementHeating lampHeatwaveImage heatingIndoor spotlightInfrared panelsLight radiatorOutdoor heaterPanel heatingPew heaterPew radiatorRadiant heaterRadiant heatingRecessed spotlightSpot heatingStanding deviceTable heaterTube heaterWall heatingWall heating elementfrom the following manufacturers:Manufacturer overview catalogue Space heater:BeurerCasafanEHT AEGElkaEOS SaunatechnikEthermaFricoGlenHellerKnoblochKraemer & KrausRommelsbacherScharnberger+Has.SchultzeStebaStiebel EltronVaillantVitramo
