These intelligent drives have a uniform interface for exchanging data telegrams also across manufacturers. In any case, it should be ensured that the blind actuator or shutter actuator also has a 1 byte communication object for each running time and slat in order to enable automatic control depending on the sun's position. For shutters, there are no slats, so shutter actuators do not have the communication object slat, only up / down / stop. Shutter actuators often have a 1-bit object for a defined, fixed position travel adjusted by means of the ETS. 1 byte means that values between 0-255 can be operated which corresponds to 0-100% in relation to the travel time. The parameters often allow run time setting depending on travel time. The travel time of the blinds or shutters is entered once in the actuator by means of the ETS software for one complete travel up respectively down for each channel of the actuator.
