The most common power supplies in this catalog are for the KNX bus system. The KNX power supply units provide a maximum current of 640mA at a voltage of 28V to 30V. Smaller KNX power supplies are available for fewer devices per line, for example KNX power supply 160mA or 320mA or bigger power supply units of 29-30V with current limiters 640mA and separate KNX chokes. A KNX power supply always contains a KNX choke. Each KNX line requires its own power supply. The nominal voltage of the KNX system is 24V. KNX bus devices still work in a stable way with up to 21V.The voltage difference permits compensation of voltage drops in the bus line or at the contact resistors. The power requirement of a KNX participant is actually standardized. Normally, it should not exceed 200mW. 150mW for the voltage supply of the microprocessor and 50mW for the application unit. There are many KNX products that do not need this power reference but also KNX devices with a higher requirement, such as KNX actuating drives, KNX room controllers or KNX displays.
